Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Sodium Chloride (Rock Salt) shall conform to AASHTO M 143, Type 1, and Grade 1 with the following exceptions and additions: Chemical Composition The minimum Sodium Chloride (NaCl) content shall be 95 percent. Rock Salt with 93.0 to 95.0 percent NaCl will be accepted, however, a cost adjustment shall be taken based upon a 95.0 percent NaCl composition. Rock Salt having less than 93.0 percent NaCl may be accepted at the discretion of the Town of Woodbridge however a cost adjustment shall be made based upon 95.0 percent NaCl composition. The adjusted cost per ton shall be calculated as follows: Cost per ton of 95.0 percent NaCl = A Difference between 95.0 percent and actual percent NaCl = B Adjusted cost per ton = A minimum (B/95.0 x A)
