Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractors may propose trucks in one or both of the following configurations: WITH Spreaders Trucks with a single rear axle, permanently mounted plow frame, plow blade, and hydraulic spreaders. Spreader Calibration All hydraulic spreaders must be calibrated by the Public Works Garage to spread the de-icing/traction agent more effectively on the City streets, The calibration shall be performed at the beginning of each season during the month of October or November at the same time as the equipment safety inspection. WITHOUT Spreaders Trucks with a single rear axle and a permanently mounted plow frame, and plow blade. The City may, at its discretion, use trucks without spreaders. Lights Trucks must be equipped with auxiliary lights, adjustable plow lights and strobe or flashing lights. Tires/Chains Tire chains must be available. Blade size Snowplow blades must be eleven (10) feet or (11) feet wide. This will simplify spec Sanders Hopper-type sand spreaders must be hydraulically driven with a minimum five (5) cubic yard capacity. (Gasoline powered spreaders may be acceptable.)
