Specifications include, but are not limited to: Product quality must be consistent with generally-accepted construction standards and be acceptable to the Public Works Director or his designee. The City reserves the right to place the order with another supplier if necessary to insure timely delivery or product quality.The City reserves the right to cancel an order, or any part thereof, without penalty or obligation whatsoever if delivery is not made within twenty-four (24) hours of placement or if the quality of the material is unacceptable.Sand will be free of stones, clay, and organic matter.Loam (topsoil) will be free of any rocks larger than 6" in diameter.Ballfield clay must be a "processed RED clay and RED sand mix " (the mix ratio of clay to sand will be determined prior to delivery after a meeting between the Parks Foreman and the successful bidder). Ballfield clay must be delivered in a sufficiently dry state to permit easy spreading. Clay delivered wet or without sufficient sand content to permit easy spreading will not be accepted. Clay must be screened and be free of stone, debris, or other deleterious material or it will not be accepted.Stone (1/2", 3/4", and 1-1/4") must be "blue stone", "trap rock" and be relatively free of dirt, debris, and stone dust.Roadmix (3/4") will consist of "blue stone", sand, and stone dust in accordance with Conn DOT standards.Washed gravel (1/2" & 3/4") must be free of sand, dust, and organic matter.
