- Provide timely, compassionate, patient-centered sexual assault forensic examination services to sexual assault victims, 13 years or older, who present within 120 hours of the assault at a participating hospital; - Utilize an integrated multidisciplinary response to sexual assault victims through collaborative relationships with community partners; - Provide specialized training and education to qualified healthcare providers enabling them to perform knowledgeable and skilled forensic examinations; - Maintain the chain of custody to ensure the integrity, preservation, and documentation of forensic evidence; - Provide testimony during criminal proceedings if required; - Provide oversight and quality assurance monitoring within the SAFE Program; and - To provide a continuous feedback mechanism among community partners, allowing for improvement in quality of care and integrity of evidence.
