The services to be performed may consist of one or more of the following tasks: (a) Assist, advise, represent and provide legal counsel to UConn in any and all aspects of compliance by UConn’s intercollegiate athletic programs with TITLE IX and related gender equity legal requirements, as well as applicable NCAA rules and regulations; (b) Provide direct legal advice and support to the ATTORNEY GENERAL, UConn and/or its administration regarding UConn’s legal obligations and NCAA requirements for providing equitable resources and opportunities to men’s and women’s athletic teams within UConn’s Division of Athletics; (c) Review, analyze and interpret applicable guidance issued by the Office of Civil Rights (“OCR”) of the U.S. Department of Education, the NCAA and other relevant authorities on gender equity compliance obligations for intercollegiate athletic programs; (d) Provide representation and assistance with internal investigations and investigations and proceedings that may be instituted by OCR, the NCAA or other relevant authorities; (e) Be available upon the reasonable request of UConn and/or ATTORNEY GENERAL to consult with the members and staff of any committee, board, bureau, institution, office, council, association, instrumentality, commission, department, agency and legislative body of the State of Connecticut, and with any other group or person designated by UConn.
