A. Moldboards 1. Contractor shall ensure the moldboards for trucks under 32,000 GVWR meet a minimum length of 10 feet and a minimum height of 30 inches. 2. Contractor shall ensure the moldboards for trucks 32,000 GVWR and over meet a minimum length of 11 feet and a minimum height of 30 inches. B. Lights Contractor shall ensure the trucks are equipped with flashing amber lights, auxiliary lights, and adjusted headlights. 1. Flashing Amber Lights 1.1 Contractor shall obtain a flashing light permit at its sole cost from the DMV covering the use of “Flashing Amber Lights” as required. 1.2 The Contractor’s local Chief of Police or local traffic authority as indicated on the permit shall sign off on the permit. 2. Lighting Specifications Contractor shall equip trucks with warning devices of the types described herein or an equal warning device as approved by the Client Agency in writing. 2.1 Two (2) Light System: Lights shall be mounted on the right and left side of the truck at a height to be sufficient to warn approaching traffic. Rotary or flashing type lights must be visible at 360° degrees. 2.2 Three (3) Light System (dual dump system): One (1) mounted on the top of cab of truck at a height to be sufficient to warn approaching traffic. Two (2) lights mounted on rear of dump body on right and left side to warn approaching traffic from rear. Rotary or flashing type lights must be visible at 360° degrees. C. Windshield Defroster and Backup Warning Contractor shall ensure the trucks are equipped with a working windshield defroster and backup warning device to ensure safe and continuous operation of the truck throughout the rental period regardless of weather conditions.
