Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town of Windham CT is issuing this Request for Qualifications for an EMS (Emergency Medical Service) Cost of Service Study for an urban/rural municipality, which provides ambulance service for an area containing approximately 25,000 residents and 27.9 square miles. Currently, the Willimantic Fire Department (WFD) uses firefighters to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance services throughout the Town of Windham. In addition, the WFD provides fire suppression services within the Willimantic Service District within the Town of Windham. The Willimantic Service District within the larger Town of Windham contains approximately 15,000 population within 4.5 square miles. Advanced Life Support (ALS) services are provided by Windham Hospital, located at 112 Mansfield Avenue, Willimantic.
