Specifications include, but are not limited to: This contract is for the rental of trucks, complete with operator, plow, tire chains and optional material spreader equipment. Contractor shall be completely responsible for the equipment and labor being used and shall furnish all fuel, maintenance, repair and insurance for that equipment. Trucks with Operators and Equipment A. This contract covers three (3) categories of trucks: Category 1: 19,500 lbs. to 25,999 lbs. GVWR Category 2: 26,000 lbs. to 31,999 lbs. GVWR Category 3: 32,000 lbs. and Over B. Contractor shall furnish the trucks, complete with operator, equipped with hoist, snowplow, tire chains and all other equipment in accordance with the contract. C. The moldboards for Category 1 and 2 trucks shall be a minimum length of 10 feet and a minimum height of 30 inches. The moldboards for Category 3 trucks shall be a minimum length of 11 feet and a minimum height of 30 inches. D. Trucks shall be equipped with auxiliary lights, adjusted headlights and flashing amber lights. 1. Flashing Amber Lights a. Contractors shall obtain a flashing light permit from the State of Connecticut, Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) covering the use of Flashing Amber Lights as required. b. The permit shall be signed off by the Contractors Local Chief of Police, or local Traffic Authority as indicated on the permit. 2. Lighting Specifications a. Contractors supplying trucks shall equip the vehicles with warning devices of the types described or an approved equal. b. Two (2) Light System: The lights shall be mounted on the right and left side of the truck at a height to be sufficient to warn approaching traffic. Rotary or flashing type lights shall be visible at 360 degrees.
