The Town of Manchester Water and Sewer Department is seeking a capable and reliable contractor to provide rehabilitation services for Well 6 and Well 7A, located at the Town’s water supply facilities in Manchester, CT, with Well 7A to be completed first, and to enter into a 3 year service contract for ongoing well maintenance, including annual inspections. The project aims to restore optimal performance and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, utilizing the Aqua Freed CO2 injection system or equivalent methods for well cleaning. The Manchester Water and Sewer Department operates water and wastewater treatment facilities serving Manchester, Connecticut, and portions of Glastonbury and surrounding towns. The water system includes 16,500 domestic service lines, 1,047 fire and irrigation services, and delivers an average of 5 million gallons of water daily. The water supply consists of seven reservoir impoundments and ten groundwater wells, with a total capacity of 9.8 million gallons per day. Well 6 and Well 7A, located at the New State Road Facility, are critical components of the groundwater supply, requiring rehabilitation to address biofouling, scaling, or sediment buildup and ongoing maintenance to sustain efficiency and water quality. The wells have onsite treatment, including air striping, chlorination, fluoridation, and corrosion control.
