Primary Role: 1. Review available information about the status of the budget of the proposed training tower, the proposed available site and the architect’s preliminary thoughts on design and project approach. 2. Working collaboratively with the stakeholders, valuate the current and possible sites in West Hartford for a replacement training tower 3. Participate in the architect's presentation of ~4 design and site options and associated order of magnitude cost estimates for senior stakeholders and provide input. 4. When Town stakeholders select a design, site, and funding direction, the successful bidder will be asked to expedite project management-related activities so that the Town is optimizing the use of currently budgeted funds to start replacement of the training tower quickly and efficiently. 5. Provide assistance to the Fire Department staff who will lead the Town’s project management in conjunction with the architect and other town stakeholders. 6. Interact with stakeholders, including the public, if necessary, related to the siting and construction. 7. Provide project management services through completion of the construction of the tower and surrounding grounds. Specific Actions/Deliverables: • Provide project management team members, including but not limited to: o Project management assistance to fire department staff ▪ Regular meetings ▪ Producing monthly project updates o Creating a project schedule and maintaining a project schedule o Assisting with developing and maintaining a project budget o Conduct and/or advise on all elements of due diligence for the site o Act as a representative for the Town to secure or assist with any required permitting o Join FD representatives at any senior stakeholder or public meetings o Act as a primary or secondary point of contact for contractors for both routine and unforeseen construction-related issues. o Assisting the town with evaluating change orders o Reviewing the payment applications for the Town o Inspection of the site during the construction phase o Perform site visits o Issue a final report after a certificate of occupancy is issued and work is complete.
