The Town of East Lyme Engineering Department is requesting proposals for conceptual design and opinion of probable costs for permanent repairs or reconstruction of the seawall at McCook Point Park at 8-10 Atlantic Street, Niantic, CT 06357. The seawall was damaged in a storm in December 2023. The East Lyme Public Works Office conducted emergency temporary repair consisting of installing precast concrete blocks, and placing concrete fill landward of the blocks. Attached are images and descriptions of areas of damaged and the temporary repair as well as block design plans. We are are looking for a proposal from a capable consultant that will include: • Options to permanently repair or reconstruct the seawall relative to the current location, elevation and height of the wall with opinion of probable costs. • Options to permanently repair or reconstruct the seawall with a greater height and/or location of the wall to protect against future sea level rise with opinion of probable costs.
