Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Project consists of the replacement of the motor fueling facility located at the Putnam Repair and Maintenance Facility in Putnam, Connecticut as shown and described in the Contract. The work includes replacement of the motor fuel underground storage tanks with aboveground storage tanks that will be protected with pipe bollards and enclosed in a 10-foot high chain link fence with PVC slats and replacement of the motor fuel island with dispensers installed adjacent to the tanks for unleaded gasoline and diesel fuel. During all times that the Project Site is occupied by state personnel, the Contractor shall maintain the following systems to the extent described to permit Department operations: 1. Diesel Fuel: State personnel will have access to permanent or temporary diesel motor fuel at all times. 2. Tank Monitoring System: The existing tank monitoring system located in the Repair Office shall be fully operational if either the fuel oil tank or oil-water separator is being used. The Contractor shall repair at its own expense any and all damage caused by construction operations to the existing facility or the site unless said damage is scheduled as part of the Project work. The Contractor shall take all precautions necessary to protect the existing buildings and its occupants during the construction period.
