Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town of Simsbury (“Town”) recently determined that a very large white oak tree that abutted Stratton Brook Road was dying. Due to its proximity to the road, it was deemed a hazard and was removed. The Town was able to save a large section of the trunk, approximately six feet in diameter and eight feet in height. Due to the size, quality, and importance of this tree, the Town determined that the trunk would provide some value to the Town, if it could be reused or preserved in some way. The Town is looking for a group with a unique and original idea on how to reuse/preserve this piece of wooden history. The Town intends to prioritize proposals for educational use or for uses that will benefit the Town or a Town group first; however, proposals for commercial use will be considered, as well. If the Town determines that multiple proposals can be chosen, that will also be considered.
