The Project is comprised of interior renovations to the mezzanine, second and fourth levels of the Regional Multicultural Magnet School (RMMS), an existing four story 65,460 square foot facility located at 1 Bulkeley Place in New London Connecticut. This facility currently offers instruction to grades k-5 this project is to begin on or about July 1, 2025 and is contingent upon grant funding authorization. The majority of the interior renovations are to be completed during the unoccupied summer months. This first phase of interior renovations will include selective renovation to the following: ▪ fourth-floor classrooms and hallways ▪ second floor media room spaces ▪ mezzanine level classrooms and hallways Interior renovation scope includes: ▪ demolition of selective millwork & flooring ▪ new flooring & selective new base ▪ wall & selective trim painting ▪ minimal trim and wall infill ▪ new grab handle hardware to existing to remain millwork The second-floor media center will have the conversion of the existing circulation desk space into a faculty office. This work will consist of: ▪ demolition ▪ two new walls ▪ door and glazing ▪ flooring (both carpet & LVT) ▪ base trim ▪ minimal HVAC and lighting There is an alternate for new lighting in the nine fourth-floor classrooms.
