The City of West Haven is seeking proposals from highly qualified professional engineering and environmental consulting firms with demonstrated experience in coastal resiliency planning, design, and regulatory compliance. The selected firm will be responsible for providing comprehensive services including site assessment, environmental and historical documentation review, coastal modeling, engineering design, and permitting shoreline stabilization and resiliency improvements along a vulnerable stretch of eroding beach on Beach Street, extending approximately 700 feet east from Morse Avenue. Project Area: Beach Street, from Morse Avenue extending to 700 feet east (see attached map). This initiative is a critical component of the City’s long-term coastal resilience strategy and is being funded through the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) Urban Act Program. As such, all services rendered must comply with applicable municipal, state, and federal laws and regulations, including coordination with CT DEEP’s Land, Water, and Reuse Division (LWRD), and relevant permitting processes. The project also involves collaboration with environmental and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment with ecological protection standards and infrastructure resiliency objectives.
