The park located at 343 Thames Street is currently being used for passive recreation. The purpose of this project is to allow all park guests ADA compliant access to the park from Thames Street to the waterfront. Anticipated services to be performed by the Consultant may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Provide all design services necessary to make ADA compliant access to the park from Thames Street to the waterfront, but not limited to, design construction documents and drawings, design details and specifications, itemized cost estimates and a schedule of values for construction and preparation of permit applications, in accordance with all applicable laws, codes, regulations and current industry standards. 2. Prepare bid documents and assist with the bidding process and bid evaluation, provide contract administration and construction project budgeting. 3. The Construction Administration portion, the Firm will provide Design Services During Construction (DSDC) and serve as a representative of the City during the administration of the Contract for Construction. Tasks to include, but not be limited to, responding to Requests for Information (RFI), reviewing shop drawings, reviewing the contractors request for payment, attendance at preconstruction meetings and providing consultation services during construction. 4. Review Change Orders for the City’s approval and execution. 5. Inspection Services, including but not limited to: observation and compliance with plans and specifications, including material inspections and the monitoring of inspections, recording results, attendance and recording of meetings, inspect construction maintenance of environmental controls for conformance with permits, maintain daily inspectors report, measure and record quantities and verify for payment, prepare pay estimates, evaluate proposals for extra work and time extensions, assist and coordination between contractor and various stakeholders, and finalize documentation necessary for project closeout. 6. The City reserves the right to not contract with the selected consulting firm for Construction Administration and Inspection Services.Please include the proposed statement of work to demonstrate a grasp of tasks required.
