The City of West Haven, in partnership with the Land Trust of West Haven, invites professionals with ecological restoration and resiliency expertise and experience sourcing, planting, and maintaining NATIVE shoreline plants to help us create the West Haven Eco Park. The project will restore 1.5 coastal acres of highly trafficked public shoreline adjacent to the boardwalk to a native plant-based coastal ecosystem by removing invasive plants and planting more than 16,000 native trees, shrubs, and perennials. Maintaining the park for two years through watering, weeding, and removing and replanting dead plants is required. This project is being funded by a grant by the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), which has additional requirements to comply with State Government guidelines.
