• Hazardous Material Work o Removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) as indicated or discovered during construction o Removal and disposal of lead-based paint in compliance with applicable regulations o Coordination with environmental consultants and abatement subcontractor as required o Proper containment, handling, disposal, and air monitoring per EPA and OSHA standards • Selective Demolition o Removal of structural concrete and masonry walls as shown on drawings o Removal of non-structural walls, concrete, brick, clay tile and select window assemblies shown on drawings. o Sawcut and remove slab edge where new walls occur o Remove deteriorated clay tile, signage, and abandoned components o Daily cleanup and disposal of all debris • Concrete o Cast-in-place sill beams, slab patching, and curb installation o Reinforcing steel, dowels, and formwork as shown o Coordination with structural steel for anchor and plate locations • Masonry o New CMU walls (4" and 8") and interior partitions o Brick infill and historic repointing o Match mortar color, joint tooling, spacing, and finish o Protect adjacent historic elements • Framing & Drywall o Furnish and install 18–20 ga CFMF o Exterior sheathing: DensGlass or equal o Gypsum board systems including shaft walls, ceilings, soffits o All thermal and sound batt insulation (R-21/R-30) o Fire-rated assemblies and UL firestopping • Carpentry / Blocking o All wood and steel blocking for cabinets, MEPFP supports, doors, and equipment o Roof nailers, parapet blocking, plywood backing o Plywood wall system at hangar door opening • Doors, Frames & Hardware o Any/All Doors specified on drawings o Furnish and install all commercial-grade hardware including locksets, closers, stops, and sweeps • Historic Finishes o Localized clay tile removal and replacement o Match existing tile size, color, profile—sample required • Metal Panels o Furnish and install corrugated panels between 8 ft and 20 ft o Include all trims, closures, fasteners, and framing for panel installation o Coordinate with structural and existing brick conditions • Painting o This contractor shall be responsible for cleaning the existing exterior Curtiss Hangar signage as well as painting of all trusses and steel. Per FAA requirements all painting shall be hand rolled. • Other Work o Joint sealants at all transitions, firestop sealants, caulking o Rigging and hoisting support for CM-directed items o Daily cleanup and site housekeeping o Final cleaning of exterior signage areas o Dumpsters, temporary toilet service, and protection o The State of Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development Project Signage (as shown below) shall be included in this trade package and installed prior to start of construction.
