1. Cleaning and Debris Removal • Remove all accumulated sediment, stones, and debris from the basins using environmentally friendly equipment and methods. • Estimated sediment removal is 1.0’ to 3.0’ depth. • Ensure the inlet to the outfall and inlet structures are cleared of debris and properly flowing to maintain optimal water movement. Clearing 10 feet around them. • All waste material shall be disposed of on-site where feasible, spreading excess material along the outer banks of the berm. If additional disposal is necessary, the contractor shall transport the material to the Town of Watertown Transfer Station in accordance with town regulations. The following Basins 21, 23, 28, and 48 will have to have material removed from site. 2. Vegetation Management • Remove all overgrown vegetation within the basins that may obstruct proper drainage and water retention. • Clear a 20-foot-wide path around the top of the centerline berm or along the fence line, where applicable, to ensure unobstructed access. • Grind down any tree stumps or cut flush as necessary, at the discretion of the Town of Watertown, to ensure clear access and maintain the basin's functionality. 3. Site Restoration • Inspect and, if necessary, clear the established maintenance paths leading to and around the basins. • Cleaning, restore the detention basin area to its original condition, for example the inlet, outlet, emergency spillway, and fence should be in proper working condition. If the fence is removed to gain access to the site it must be put back in by the contractor. • Minimum maintenance path width: 20 feet to allow for routine access and future maintenance. • Plant LESCO No Mow Fine Fescue Seed Mixture (LESCO: 20-41-402) can be found on SiteOne Landscape Supply in cleared areas to promote long-term erosion control and reduce maintenance needs. This grass mix should be selected for its drought resistance, deep root structure, and low-maintenance characteristics.
