Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Chemistry Building, located at the University of Connecticut (UConn), Storrs Campus, is a four-story brick-veneer academic building with a metal standing-seam roof. The main building is separated into three (3) distinct wings, Teaching, Research, and Administration, and includes an auditorium extension located to the southwest of the main building. The building was originally provided with snow guards, which are projections on the roof that prevent large sheets of ice and snow from sliding off the smooth metal roof and falling onto the sidewalks below. Over time, these have failed. These are to be removed by the awarded contractor. Temporary scaffolding has been erected over the exterior stair and walkways around the perimeter of the building for pedestrian safety. This project will install new snow guards on the roofs with removal of the temporary scaffolding by the original installing contractor.
