The University of Connecticut Health Center (UConn Health) is requesting proposals from qualified organizations to provide architectural & engineering services for programming, design and construction administration for the replacement of the MEP infrastructure located in the Connecticut Tower (CT) penthouse to allow for the continued utilization of floors 1 thru 7 as inpatient and clinical units. The goal of this project is to replace outdated Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems located in the CT penthouse that serve floors one (1) through seven (7), with modern, energy efficient systems that have the flexibility to allow for the continued utilization of the area as inpatient and clinical and accommodate future renovations of individual floors. A MEP Infrastructure Study completed in January 2025 and revised in September 2025 evaluated the condition of the existing systems and provided recommendations for replacement. UConn Health plans on hiring a Construction Manager (CM) for pre-construction and construction services and a Commissioning Agent (CX) to provide Enhanced Commissioning services.
