Description

The University of Colorado has received a sole source request from University Risk Management for insurance brokerage support and placement consulting services.

The Specific and Sole Source requirements are as follows:

Thorough review of all existing coverages and written recommendations to URM regarding changes in coverage based on such items as unintentional self-insurance, gaps in coverage, restrictive limits, and cost of coverage.
Preparation of an unbiased market analysis and forecast by insurance line, prior to each renewal. Such analysis must include pricing and market trends, availability of coverage and the long-term direction of the market, including the financial stability of key insurance carriers.
Provide a market proposal to URM for approval, prior to marketing of the program
Broker should be prepared to meet up to 10 times per year, in Denver, with URM to discuss risk management and marketing issues, loss control measures, claim and coverage issues, etc. During certain periods of activity, e.g. renewals, daily communication is necessary.
- Be available during regular business hours to respond to questions from URM with regard to general insurance questions and facilitate dialog with carriers on insurance coverage issues.
- Participate in monthly Assistant Vice President’s staff meeting and attend the annual URM planning session .
- Provide presentations to the Board of Regents and other governing councils as requested.
- Respond to inquiries within two business days.
Firm must have five years of experience working with public research universities with programs that include health sciences and international studies.
Firm must have at least five years of experience working with Colorado public entities and have a working knowledge of Colorado Statutes, including but not limited to the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act, and the Colorado Workers' Compensation Act
Firm must have a local (Denver metro area) office with the principal account representative who will service this account located in Colorado.
The principal agents servicing this account must be licensed to do business in the State of Colorado.
Firm must have access to specialized technical expertise to assist in the identification and evaluation of critical exposures.

This notice of intent is neither a formal solicitation nor a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available. No award will be made on the basis of unsolicited quotations or offers received in response to this notice.

Should your company be fully qualified and able to meet all the requirements, upload a letter with your qualifications and information. Suppliers are required to provide a Point by Point Response to the Required Specifications listed above as to how your service meets each of these requirements.

Any response to this notice must show clear, compelling and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the University. The intent of this notice is for informational purposes only. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the University not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the University.

Suppliers are to provide documentation to certify and validate specifications, along with brochures containing vendor specifications which can be evaluated by University personnel. Please include any other pertinent information concerning your services. A determination by the University not to compete this proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the University. All interested parties who are responsible, certified, and capable may identify their interest and may submit an offer or quotation which shall be considered by the department. The interested parties bear full responsibility to ensure complete transmission and timely receipt.

The University of Colorado will be the sole judge of equivalence.

FAILURE TO RESPOND AS INSTRUCTED ABOVE WILL AUTOMATICALLY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
