Residential Trash Services and Curbside Recycling Services
March 2025
General Information:
The Town of Ignacio (Town) is seeking proposals for Residential Trash Services and Curbside Recycling Service for service to all residential customers within the Town. The Town currently bills approximately 260 customers for solid waste services which are contracted to Republic Services. We are seeking proposals for both Residential Trash Services and Curbside Recycling Services; these can be provided by the same company or separate companies. Curbside recycling is not mandatory but the Town is seeking a consolidated service for both trash and recycling and may prefer proposals that offer both services.
Proposal Requirements:
Interested applicants shall submit a proposal identifying individual or company information complete with details on the following items:
• Company history and experience.
• Personnel and assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Equipment that will be utilized for residential trash and/or curbside recycling services.
• Agreement to support Fall and Spring Town Cleanup Weeks with six (6) 40-yard dumpsters with drop-off, pickup and one free dump for the six (6) dumpsters (additional dumping pricing needs to be included in the proposals).
• Billing experience and desired billing structure.
• Detailed schedule listing pickup dates.
• Detailed rate structure and associated service terms.
• Proof of Insurance.
• References.
Proposals must be complete and provide this information in a clear and concise manner.
Selection Process and Criteria:
The Town will review all proposals and interview selected individuals or companies. The current contract with Republic Services will expire on June 9th, and the Town would like to have an approved contract(s) in place by May 12, 2025. The Town will work with the selected company(ies) to ensure all aspects of the proposal are executed effectively and efficiently. The Town reserves the right to deny all proposals, and/or to work with proposals and respective companies to meet project objectives. A contract will be executed between the Town and the selected company, and proof of insurance is required.
