PR-23-01 - Prairie Dog Population Management Services

Provide on-call management of Black Tailed Prairie Dog (Cynomys ludovicianus) populations at several locations within the Town of Erie. Typically, the Contractor will be requested to work 8-10 (eight to ten) hours per month at the discretion of the Open Space & Trails Supervisor. Management of larger populations, which will require more time commitment, may be requested at any time. The Open Space & Trails Supervisor will schedule with the Contractor on a monthly basis to determine which day(s) and sites should be visited by the Contractor. The treatment method requested will depend on weather conditions, colony locations, and time of year. The Open Space & Trails Supervisor will provide maps and written instruction as to where populations should be surveyed and controlled.
