ITB SW-2020-06 - McMurdo Gulch Stream Reclamation Project - Priority 1 Improvement Project

The work to be performed under this contract generally includes stream channel improvements at three
separate locations on McMurdo Gulch; grading, water control, boulder cascade drop structure, riffle drops and pools, bank protection, vegetation restoration, vegetation enhancement, erosion control measures, soil rip-rap, void filled rip-rap, erosion control blanket, mulching and related appurtenances.

Work items are to be completed in accordance with the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UDFCD) / Mile High Flood Control District (MHFCD) Specifications, Town of Castle Rock (Town) Construction Methodology & Materials Manual, and all other applicable Town standards and details. The Contractor shall supply all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the work in accordance with these specifications.

Contractor shall verify actual field conditions prior to construction. It is strongly recommended that the
prospective bidders investigate the site of work sufficiently to satisfy themselves of the extent and conditions of the project.

Contractor will be required to coordinate construction activities with adjacent property owners, trash removal companies, school district and other Town maintenance projects if applicable.

The Contractor is responsible for obtaining State Stormwater Discharge and Dewatering permits, as applicable.  The Contractor shall also obtain Construction and TESC permits with the Town. There are no fees associated with these Town permits.

The Town anticipates a Notice of Award on or around December 10, 2019. The contractor shall commence work no later than ten (10) calendar days from, and including, the date of the Notice to Proceed. Once work has commenced the Contractor shall complete work and should not leave the project. Work shall be substantially complete within one hundred twenty (120) calendar days of the Notice to Proceed. If “Construction Completion” is not issued within the allotted contract time for the original scope of work, “Liquidated Damages” shall be assessed. When contract work is complete, the Contractor shall commence work on punchlist items, cleanup, and demobilizing regardless of contract time remaining. A schedule of sequencing of all work shall be submitted by the Contractor at or before the project pre-construction meeting; and approved by the Town.
