Specifications include, but are not limited to: The university is looking for a software solution to impact student success in the following ways: • To find a solution that will make it easier for students and advisors to see all possible schedule alternatives, given the set of courses and other scheduling restrictions. The Solution will have the functionality for students and advisors to do the following: o Utilize course plans for current and upcoming semesters. Create or upload a high-level course plan. This could be a plan created in the Solution, but should also import the DegreeWorks plans. View a sample student schedule or plan. Ability for an advisor to build a schedule on behalf of the student. o Course Search – Schedule Options Allow students and advisors to quickly see schedule options based on selected courses. Ability to search of multiple classes at the same time with the output showing possible schedule options. Ability to restrict the search after entering additional day and time constraints such as work, athletics, etc. Include filters to restrict the course search by campus, department, section attributes, instructor, and other filters. It would be desirable if the product recognized course attributes in the graduation plan, such as a General Education Humanities, and then used the attribute in the course search to find schedules with any course in that group. o Schedule selection - Once a student has reviewed the possible schedule choices that includes all the courses they need to take along with specific day and times for each, the student should be able to: Save the schedule option to share with an advisor or others. Save multiple options in case their first-choice grouping has closed classes. Bring up the saved schedule options to register for their classes on their designation registration date. o Registration - The product should act as an interface with Banner to register for classes and do the following: Start the registration process with a mechanism that requires students to review and update information prior to moving to registration. This could be a display of current address and majors. The Solution would provide a text area with the possibility of adding a link to external sites; a desirable feature would be facilitation of information submission.. Other examples include acceptance of financial responsibility, immunization records submission, or other similar tasks.
