This Contract is for communications system in rural Colorado, that is available 95% of the time at pre-selected locations and the option to identify additional locations statewide or relocate existing Intelligent Traffic Systems to new locations. Using wireless, satellite, low orbit satellite, CRBS, etc., and capable of operating on solar technologies. Devices such as cameras, weather stations, message boards, and side fire radars are used by CDOT and integrated into CDOT’s existing Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and provide CDOT’s Traffic Management Center (TMC) the ability to provide otherwise inaccessible traveler information that can impact travel decisions and routes. CDOT is seeking reliable communication methods to specific devices in specific locations across the state, where fiber is not available.
