The City of Longmont occasionally has a need for special counsel to provide legal advice and assistance regarding energy-related issues, primarily those associated with Energy and Carbon Management Operations regulated by ECMC, and all energy-related environmental and jurisdictional impacts. Legal advice to include, but may not be limited to; general advice, negotiation and drafting of contracts and other instruments with private and public entities, case law monitoring and interpretation, monitoring regulatory developments, including drafting/reviewing comments on proposed regulations, and providing legal strategy advice to the City regarding participation in regulatory hearings, support in the development of local regulations, review of legislative bills, policy advice, and litigation, as requested.
