2020-51065 - Old Stage Road Surface Rebuild

The City of Aspen seeks qualified contractors for the demolition of damaged trail and the construction of a new asphalt trail surface (including subsurface preparation and root barrier installation) on the Old Stage Trail in the vicinity of Relay Road and Maroon Creek Club 
Asphalt Trail Replacement
Proposers will be required to submit a proposal to provide the following services along with all labor, insurance, equipment, and materials that may be required for completing the work:

1. 1. Demolition of existing asphalt trail: The existing asphalt trail shall be demolished and removed from the site.

1. 2. Preparation of subsurface: The surface beneath the existing trail shall be prepared for receiving a new asphalt trail and materials added or removed as necessary.

1. 3. Installation  of root barrier:    A narrow trench shall be cut on the western edge of the trail alignment to a depth of 24” inches and an approved plastic root barrier installed along the length of the new trail.

1. 4. New asphalt trail surface installation:   New asphalt trail will be installed to a depth of 3 inches in accordance with the guidelines spelled out in the City of Aspen’s pavement specifications below.
