Project Description
The State of Colorado Institution of Western Colorado University (WCU) is soliciting the submittal of proposals from qualified Design/Build entities to provide services for the repair and renovation of Moffat Hall. Moffat Hall requires repair and renovation of existing building floors and partitions towards the enhancement of code and accessibility issues.
The program envelope for this project will be all of Moffat Hall excluding adjacent Mears Hall and Robidoux Hall and the common spaces shared between the three buildings. Moffat Hall provides on-campus housing for undergraduate students. The total program space is 30,176 SF and includes approximately three floors, with 76 dwelling units, storage space, and shared floor lounges. The scope will focus on floors, ceilings, drywall repair and code upgrades requiring door, wall and bathroom configuration changes.
No new construction is proposed, and all finish work will occur within the existing building envelope. The repairs are needed due to a significant flood event in October of 2019. The existing building HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems are not intended to be improved within this project.
The size and quantity of the current dwelling units will remain unchanged. It is anticipated that existing tub/showers on the second and third floor will be removed and replaced with shower inserts which may necessitate additional demolition.
