Boulder County Parks and Open Space (BCPOS) is soliciting bids from qualified and experienced contractors to secure construction services for the restoration of four (4) breached earthen embankments on the County’s Western Mobile Open Space property. Lake 4 with two (2) embankments including the main embankment between Lake 4 and West lake and the embankment between Lake 3 and Lake 4, West Lake, A-Frame Lake and the construction of the associated spillways, outlet structures, and Lake 4 outlet pipeline are located west of the Town of Hygiene Colorado. The construction services are required to restore the embankments to an operational condition from damage which occurred during the flood of September 2013. The Project shall be completed in compliance with the Contract documents prepared by the County and with all Federal and State regulations. The selected contractor will complete all construction aspects of the project within 320 calendar days from the date of mobilization, weather permitting.
SCHEDULE:
The tentative schedule for construction is September 1, 2019 to July 1 2020, and may go through cold weather conditions dependent upon final contract award and Notice to Proceed. The selected Contractor should be prepared and take all appropriate measures to ensure proper construction of all elements of the scope of work, including but not limited to:
1. Cold weather protection for new concrete.
2. Proper compaction of embankment and roadway surfacing.
These measures should be incorporated into the unit costs of each line item in the Bid Tab and will not be paid as extra costs.
