Description

Qualified Elevator Contractors are invited to bid on an elevator modernization project of the existing elevator at CDOT’s La Plata Office building in Durango.
To be considered as a qualified contractor, the contractor shall

Be certified by the National Association of Elevator Contractors
Shall have a technician based within 250 miles of Durango.

Evidence of these qualifications should be submitted with the bid.

The work will consist of a modernization of the existing elevator as described in the below scope of services. Elevators fall under the Jurisdiction of the Colorado Division of Oil and Public Safety (OPS) and the State has adopted the 2013 edition of ASME A17.1 Safety Code for Elevators and Conveyances. All work shall be done in accordance with these codes, and all required inspections and certifications per OPS will be required upon completion of the work.

The work shall also include the work normally constituted as ‘By Others’ in an elevator modernization that includes the electrical and fire alarm work. The elevator contractor shall employ a sub-contractor that is a Colorado licensed electrician that is qualified to complete elevator modernizations. The sub-contractor will be required to pull required State Electrical Permit and Local Fire Alarm Permits as described in the Scope of Services. The State has adopted the 2020 National Electrical Code for all electrical work. The fire alarm permits would be through the Durango Fire Department.

The contractor is required to visit the site prior to submitting a quote for this work. An assessment of the existing elevator shall include all items required to submit a full and complete quote including but not limited to existing voltage, horsepower, the machine room, building layout and site access.
