202054011 - Aircraft Deicing System (ADS) Modernization

Denver International Airport (DEN) owns and contracts the operation and maintenance of an extensive
aircraft deicing system (ADS). The ADS will provide the receipt, storage and distribution of aircraft deicing fluid (ADF), and the collection, storage and recycling of spent ADF (i.e., stormwater contaminated with ADF). The ADS is mission critical for DEN and the airlines to maintain safe winter operations and for DEN to meet its environmental regulatory compliance obligations. Portions of the ADS, specifically the glycol recycling facility, are original to airport construction and are well beyond their life expectancy (10 - 15 years) as observed in loss of processing throughput, major equipment failures and subsequent increases in downtime, and the results from recent facility condition assessments. The purpose of this project is to secure operation, maintenance, and management services for the ADS and to replace the existing glycol distillation equipment that is part of the recycling system so that DEN can continue to treat spent ADF and maintain the continuity of our winter operations. Included within this scope is associated work that is required to maintain the operation of the system into the future, as described in the Scope of Services.
