El Paso County provides a diverse range of services essential to the community’s quality of life. This includes a regional park system with over 8,000 acres of land and 146 miles of trail. El Paso County Parks also manages two (2) nature centers, the El Paso County Fairgrounds, and several administrative building grounds. These citizen-owned government assets provide a foundation for a community to thrive economically, culturally, and environmentally. Managing existing park assets and planning future park assets influence the quality and reliability of governmental services provided to the public. Effective infrastructure management is a strategic priority for County executive leadership and elected officials, as reflected in the prioritization of asset management in the County Strategic Plan
