Description

Colorado State University hereby gives notice of its intent to purchase a Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV)system from Dantec Dynamics via sole source. A lab in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering plans to acquire a Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) system, a non-intrusive laser optical measurement technique for research and diagnostics of detailed flow structure and turbulence. The PIV system consists of multiple components, including a laser power device, buoyant tracer particles, a high-speed, high-resolution camera, and a data acquisition computer. It has been a popular modern optical method of flow visualization used for studying detailed structures in the flow field.
