olorado Mountain College has used its current audit firm, BKD, LLC, for the past five years. It
a standard practice for CMC to put large contracts out to public bid every few years. This RFP in
the general course of business and is not an indication of dissatisfaction with our incumbent
uditor, who will be invited to submit a proposal. We are asking qualified firms to submit a roposal
for financial audit work, including the following:
• Audit of the financial statements for each fiscal year ending on June 30.
• Compile draft financial statements for review and adjustment by CMC staff.
• Preparation of the related management letter.
• Presentation of the results of the audit and the management letter at a specified Board
meeting if requested.
• Consultation on financial and other matters related to the organization as required annually.
lease be aware of the following points:
• CMC’s Board of Trustees has an Audit Committee that functions as a representative of the Board
during the audit process. A schedule of the regular audit process is included with this RFP on the
College website.
• The College receives both state and federal financial aid that will need to be part of the
scope, the winning bidder will have experience with the rules, timeline and reporting requirements
for financial aid.
• Additionally, CMC’s grants program is a growing part of our operation and the selected firm
will be asked to provide recommendations concerning the management of that program.
• Our audit must be coordinated with the Colorado Mountain College Foundation as it is presented
