Colorado Mesa University is a public institution in Grand Junction, Colorado serving nearly 11,000 students. Over 800 of these students are NCAA Division II student-athletes competing in 26 different sports, including Football. Currently, the CMU varsity football team plays all home games at the City of Grand Junction’s Stocker Stadium in the Lincoln Park Stadium Complex.
The State of Colorado, Colorado Mesa University (CMU), is soliciting proposals from qualified Architects for the Athletic Complex project. This project proposes construction of ±14,000, two-story Athletic Complex complete with a locker room equipped with 126 lockers, restroom, showers, sports medicine and separate exam rooms, multiple break out rooms separate team meeting rooms, coaches offices and separate locker room, separate officials locker room and restroom, all on the first floor, with a panoramic viewing platform complete with pre function space, a catering kitchen, public restroom and exterior seating on the second floor.
The project site is located at the South end of Stocker Stadium. The new structure will replace an existing building on the site.
The new Athletic Complex will be completed at the same time the City of Grand Junction is moving forward with plans to modify the main south entrance into the stadium to enhance circulation safety, provide a new ticket booth and attached gift shop and revise open air stadium entrance.
