The Contractor shall travel throughout the state of Colorado to selected roadway locations, referred to as Traffic Count Stations, to collect traffic data (“Traffic Counts”). These Traffic Count Stations shall include motorized traffic data collection sites. The Contractor shall collect Traffic Counts for periods of up to 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week. Traffic Count collection shall be collected for a continuous 24, 48, and 72 hours, or longer, starting at midnight on day one (1), and continuing through the specific data collection duration period previously provided by CDOT. The Traffic Counts shall be collected during what is considered “a collection day”, which is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, Friday unless otherwise specified.
Traffic data is used and needed for traffic monitoring and reporting in the Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) which is a mandated yearly reporting requirement by the Federal High Administration (FHWA) to report. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will use the collected traffic data to analyze and predict the road traffic, to support transportation operation and planning. Contractor shall provide the following types of Services through Task Orders under this Main Task Order Contract. CDOT may execute Task Orders at its discretion and CDOT is not required to execute any minimum number of Task Orders under this Main Task Order Contract.
