Project Purpose
The Bustang Interregional Express Bus and Pegasus Shuttle Systems have provided the citizens of Colorado low-cost public intercity transportation services throughout the State of Colorado since 2015. This contract allows CDOT to continue to provide those services, and to comply with SB22-180, for the expansion of these transit services for the benefit of the citizens of Colorado.
The Colorado Department of Transportation is soliciting technical and price proposals from qualified sources to provide public transportation services for specified routes as stated in Attachment C - Scope of Work. It is the intent of CDOT to select one Contractor to provide fixed route transit services utilizing commuter/intercity motor coaches and transit shuttle vans to be furnished by CDOT.
The transit services contracted by CDOT to private operators are intended to be equal in quality to other partner public transit agencies like The Regional Transportation District (RTD), Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT), and Transfort.
Bustang Special Services. If CDOT has included the potential for Bustang Special Services on this Contract, proposals should be adjusted to cover such Bustang Special Services. The Bustang Special Service quantities or periods contained in the proposer’s proposal shall be evaluated in order to determine the Contract award. CDOT will evaluate offers for award purposes by adding the total proposed price for all Bustang Special Services to the proposed price for the initial term of the Contract. Award of a Contract containing Bustang Special Services shall not obligate CDOT to exercise such Bustang Special Services.
While preference will be given to proposals operating all lines and components of the Bustang System described herein, consideration will be given to proposals submitted to operate an individual line. Individual lines include Bustang West, South, North or Pegasus respectively.
