Description

Supply and installation of a passive rockfall mitigation system along Highway 103 in Idaho
Springs, Colorado, to protect infrastructure and public safety from potential rockfall hazards. The
scope includes furnishing and installing a 500-kJ energy-rated rockfall barrier fence system
consisting of rockfall spider rope net panels, anchor bolts, boundary and support ropes, and steel
post assemblies. The barrier system includes upslope and downslope rope anchors, lateral and
vertical support ropes, and spike plates, all installed per manufacturer specifications. The work
also includes conformance to CDOT material standards, special provisions for material submittals,
and installation sequencing for safe and effective field deployment.
