ITB-FG11-05-091-R - Fiber Optic Communication System

Summary of Specifications:
The Transportation Services Division is currently responsible for the operation and maintenance of 114 traffic signals. The City currently has a Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality grant to install 8.6 miles of fiber optic communication that will support the operation of the traffic control system. This portion of the project is Phase I of the plan and subsequent phases will follow in FY13 and FY14. This project entails construction and implementation of the fiber optic system including underground conduit, some aerial installation, associated hardware (routers, switches, servers, cameras, encoders, etc.). In general, the project is a furnish and install traffic operations center equipment, pull boxes, conduit, fiber optic cable, modems, patch panels, and test fiber optic cable.
