Description

The purpose of this RFP is to obtain proposals from qualified professional firms to determine the feasibility of creating a low-stress Active Transportation facility along 7th Street/26 ½ road, a 2.75 mile stretch of road, which connects the Riverfront Trail at Las Colonias to the Shared Use Paths along 26 ½ Road (planned from Horizon Drive to Summer Hill Way) and Horizon Drive (existing between 26 ½ Road and G Rd and proposed between 26 ½ Road and 26 Road). This will improve access within and between the Riverfront Trail at Las Colonias (offering recreation, entertainment, retail shopping, and low-stress east/west connections); to the Downtown District (offering retail shopping, dining, entertainment, and services); to Colorado Mesa University, Grand Junction High School, and Tope Elementary; to St. Mary’s Hospital; and to substantial new and existing residential areas.
