The purpose of the storm water master plan will be to fully analyze drainage basins using recently updated 1’ contour data and to forecast the future developed condition out to 50 years for future drainage improvements. Once the City’s conditional hydrological storm drain model has been developed, key projects will be selected for a 10-year implementation plan. The master plan will also include possible funding mechanisms to augment the street enterprise funds available to provide infrastructure while minimizing the reliance on loans. Finally, the updated plan and infrastructure will incorporate community goals, such as using storm water to reduce the amount of treated water used to irrigate recreational spaces and improving infiltration such that 97% of all the water from a rainfall event equal to or less than a 5-year storm is fully infiltrated or released within 72 hours.
