Summary of Specifications:
This project involves the rehabilitation of an existing 2.8 mgd wastewater lift station. The lift station serves the IBM Campus, the Gunbarrel Technical Center, and some residential homes and businesses located in the lower elevation areas of Gunbarrel in northeast Boulder. The lift station discharges to a short force main segment and downstream gravity sewer, which ultimately conveys wastewater to the City’s wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) located at 4049 North 75th Street. This project represents a major overhaul of the lift station. Modifications include a wet well expansion, new submersible pumps, an influent ogee ramp, and a new emergency pump. Building modifications include the construction of an intermediate floor pipe gallery with significant mechanical upgrades. This project will also include major electrical and instrumentation upgrades, involving new VFDs and PLC/SCADA upgrades to provide enhanced monitoring and controls that will be integrated with the WWTF process automation system.
