02-2025 - Embodied Carbon in Building Analysis

The city of Boulder is seeking a consultant or consultant team that can help build literacy around embodied carbon in the built environment; conduct a detailed embodied carbon analysis based on emerging best practices, accounting methods, and economic analysis; develop material and systems prioritization guidance; and assist in vetting the analysis with industry and community stakeholders. The final deliverables for this [Phase 1] work will serve as the foundation for a subsequent [Phase 2] robust community engagement process to inform and develop a multi-year Embodied Carbon in Buildings Roadmap for Boulder that outlines strategies to be pursued to reduce the overall embodied carbon impacts within its building sector.
