The proposed Work (Strontia Springs Pressure Reducing Station Sleeve Valve Replacement Project) provides for the removal of two existing 42-inch, angle-pattern, flow control sleeve valves and the installation of two new Owner-furnished 42-inch flow control sleeve valves (FCV-1-1 and FCV-1-2) as manufactured by Bailey Valve, Inc. The principle project elements include the following:1. Hazardous Environmental Conditions Survey and investigation of the quality and condition of the existing bridge beam web modification and weld. 2. Initial modifications to the middle segment of the existing lower walkway system to facilitate sleeve valve removal. 3. Structural improvements to the existing bridge crane system as needed to permit sleeve valve removal. 4. Disassembly and removal of existing FCV-1-2 from the Station and disposal of by Contractor. Owner may require that the removal is accomplished in readily separable pieces. 5. Inspection of the elbow supporting FCV-1-2, remediate as required. 6. Electrification conversion of the bridge crane bridge drive, trolley drive, and hoist. 7. Improvements to the Station electrical power system. 8. Install new support strapping and anchoring system(s) to better secure the 42” elbow downstream of FCV-1-2 to the existing concrete cradle. 9. Modification to the FCV-1-2 inlet piping to allow HMC incorporation, including lining and coating repairs as needed. 10. Fabricate/install the FCV-1-2 downstream replacement HMC pipe spool assembly. 11. Fabricate/install the wall brace for the inlet flange of FCV-1-2. 12. Fabrication of new HMC assemblies upstream and downstream of FCV-1-1. 13. Load verification testing of the electrified bridge crane system.
