The purpose of this RFP is to solicit responses from qualified applicants capable of producing high-quality, anti-tobacco media campaigns, successfully managing all of the pages associated with TobaccoFreeCO.org, and/or implementing successful media buys that ensure STEPP-created campaigns reach priority populations with cessation messaging. The goal of this project is to support funding for community-based as well as statewide tobacco education programs that aim to decrease youth/child tobacco and nicotine use, lessen exposure to secondhand smoke and vapor, and increase successful youth and adult quit attempts. Statistics show that 10% of Colorado adults smoke and more than 9% of Colorado teens report using a tobacco product. One of the objectives of comprehensive tobacco control programs is the decrease of disease, disability, and death caused by tobacco use. A comprehensive tobacco control program must include community-led efforts to use media campaigns to promote participation in tobacco treatment programs.
