3402-25 - Special Education and Special Service Provider

The purpose Solicitation is to support APS Schools and/or Central Office in the recruitment and hiring of various special education services, including SLP, OT, PT, Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker, School Audiologist, Special Education Teacher, Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Teacher of the Visually Impaired, Orientation and Mobility Specialist, and paraprofessionals in the event a prolonged vacancy that has not been filled through the District’s typical hiring process. This alternative hiring practice ensures APS can fulfill all legal/ethical obligations to provide FAPE in accordance with, IDEA, ECEA, and Section 504 - as well as other pertinent legal state/federal regulations. Partner agencies are required to meet all background and licensure standards during recruitment and referral, resulting in high quality special education teachers and specialized service providers being placed at APS sites. Additionally, contractors assist with provision of Compensatory Education services.
