This is a Public Works project which consists of improvements to an existing City of Santa Paula potable water well site (Well No. 12). Improvements include: new standby engine generator, valve and equipment replacements, replacements of the disinfection components, electrical upgrades, installation of pedestrian access to the site and associated improvements and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary for the proper construction of the contemplated improvement, as incdiated on the project plans.

Event Note

Bidders will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding the local conditions, potential construction difficulties and restrictions related to the perfomance of the Work under the Contract. Bidders will then visit the project site as part of the pre-bid meeting. The City requires all Pre-Bid Conference attendees to arrive for the meeting on time and to sign an attendance list which is used to determine if Bidders meet this requirement. In order for a Bid to qualify for consideration in making an award, the Bidder shall have a responsible representative present for the entire duration of the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting. Bids received from Bidders not represented at the Mandatory Pre-bid Meeting and Site visit will be returned to the Bidder unopened.

Additional Bidding Instructions

The City of Santa Paula is accepting sealed bids by US Postal Service (mailed) or similar service (FedEx, UPS, etc.), or by hand delivery. All sealed bids shall list the following information on the outside of the package: Improvements at Well No. 12. Sealed packages shall be mailed/delivered to the City Clerk's office, 970 Ventura St., Santa Paula, CA. 93060, by 3:00P.M. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. At which time they sall be pbulicly opened via Zoom Teleconference
All questions relating to interpretation of the Contract Documents must be submitted in writing no later than 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 23, 2025 and responses shall be in the form of written addenda to the Contract Documents. Questions may be sent via electronic mail to the attention of the Interim City Engineer Robert Woodward, PE, engineer@spcity.com. Questions submitted after this time shall not be responded to.
