For many years, the City has contracted with multiple pest control contractors to assist with structural pest management at various City facilities. The City wishes to consolidate these various contracts into one service contract and bring pest control services in alignment with the City’s Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Policy. The City is seeking proposals from qualified pest control contractors to furnish all labor, materials, parts, equipment, and all work necessary and incidental to perform recurring structural pest control services as outlined in the Scope of Services section below. All facilities (listed in Appendix C) are owned and maintained by the City. All but one facility is located within the City of Davis jurisdictional boundaries. The Wastewater Treatment Plant is located approx. 3 miles outside City limits. Example structures to be serviced include fire and police stations, administrative buildings, corporation yard buildings, associated out buildings, and other public facilities. The City anticipates, at a minimum, needing the following services: In general, the contractor shall supply labor, tools and materials to provide monitoring and/or request-based structural pest control for the City, using IPM methodology with heavy reliance on least-toxic control methods, at all of the locations identified in Appendix C. Examples of potential services that may be necessary include, but are not limited to: Non-chemical exterior treatments (trapping, barrier/one-way netting, manual removal of insect/avian nests & arachnid webbing, etc.) Chemical exterior treatments (non-toxic/toxic baiting in secured stations, barrier spray, pheromone traps, etc.) Interior treatments (trapping, insect bait stations, monitoring stations) Scheduled monitoring and deterrent services (monthly, bi-weekly, quarterly) Unscheduled/need based isolated single pest infestation Minor exclusion services (installation of door sweeps, vertical door plates, hardwire fencing, sealing of gaps, one-way netting/entryways, etc.); Monitoring, control methods, and treatment schedules will be based on pest presence and activity threshold. Target pests include, but are not limited to, rodents, crawling insects (ex. ants, roaches, etc.), biting insects (ex. mites, fleas), and stinging insects excluding honey bees (ex. paper wasps and yellow jackets). Access to all sites for monitoring and service is limited to business days from 7am to 5pm. No weekend or holiday work access will be possible.
